6ABC Action News in Philadelphia is reporting that “human errors” are to blame for the tragic derailment of a New York-bound Amtrak train that killed eight people and injured more than 200.

Those errors, specifically, were the combination of excessive speed into the turn (106 mph into a 50 mph curve) and the sudden force of the emergency brake, according to an unnamed source.
Sources also tell 6ABC that cracks in the front window of the locomotive were not caused by bullets, as some have theorized.
#JUST IN: Sources say damage to front of derailed Amtrak engine "NOT" bullet holes. Damage is "undetermined" at the moment.

The official investigation into the crash is expected to continue for quite some time, and 6ABC planning editor Mike Neilon isn’t naming sources, so we’ll take these tweets with a grain of salt for now.
