The Washington Post reports today that Nicole Eramo, an associate dean of students at the University of Virginia who heads the university’s sexual misconduct board, has filed a multi-million lawsuit against Rolling Stone magazine, which named her specifically in its now-debunked story, “A Rape on Campus.” Attorney, prolific blogger and Twitchy favorite Gabriel Malor looked into the lawsuit today.
Boom. U-Va dean sues Rolling Stone for defamatory rape story. http://t.co/l2o7tMZ0Bp

Eramo has filed her lawsuit in the Charlottesville circuit court. She is asking for $7.85 million in damages.

Eramo's lawsuit names both Rolling Stone LLC and Sabrina Erdely as defendants.

Eramo, bc she was named in the article, has best claim. Fraternity chapter & national org, next best. Individual frat members, not really.

The suit names writer Sabrina Erdely as “a wanton journalist who was more concerned with writing an article that fulfilled her preconceived narrative about the victimization of women on American college campuses.”
The section on Erdely's known habit of sensationalizing her stories is great (and too long to steal): (PDF) http://t.co/HM0IMIiKHF

Of all Erdely's mistakes, this my favorite. So simple to check and it's fundamental to her piece. pic.twitter.com/K52ttNp24u

Hmm … the suit alleges that Erdely was put in touch with people with “normal rape stories” but seemed to be looking for something “monstrous” that occurred at a fraternity.
Bye-bye, career. pic.twitter.com/Easg6d2O0i

@gabrielmalor Normal rape stories weren't good enough? Amazingly hideous.

@gabrielmalor Bye? This will bolster her career prospects at prominent publications on the Left. She knows how to chase their narratives.
