Mainstream media forecasts of 'the end of snow' somewhat premature [photos]

It was a confusing day for weather in much of the United States today as Northern Texas and the Plains were struck by tornadoes, snow, hail and flooding. Fortunately, tweeter Steve Goddard was there to make sense of it all with the help of some newspaper headlines and expert forecasts from years past. Take this one from just a year ago, for example.

It wasn’t easy migrating to Antarctica, but it had to be done to survive.

A disastrous new ice age? That would be frightening if all of these projections weren’t strictly theoretical, the human race having died out decades ago.
