Baltimore City workers sent home early in anticipation of Freddie Gray protests

Street demonstrations continued today in Baltimore in protest of the death of Freddie Gray, a 25-year-old black man who died of a spinal injury one week after being taken into police custody.

Today, however, “non-essential” city personnel were sent home at 2 p.m. in anticipation of the protests.
