As Twitchy reported Sunday, a new book by Peter Schweizer entitled “Clinton Cash: The Untold Story of How and Why Foreign Governments and Businesses Helped Make Bill and Hillary Rich” is on the way.
Because the book covers Clinton’s tenure as secretary of state, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest addressed it this afternoon at the White House press briefing, saying that there is “not a lot of evidence” supporting Schweizer’s allegations. More or less than a smidgen? That has yet to be determined.
Hillary Clinton herself has now acknowledged the book’s existence, falling back on the old reliable claim that it’s nothing more than a distraction.

@ron_fournier @rubycramer @HillaryClinton @ClintonFdn // "bad decisions & weak explanations" also shed light on who the candidate really is.

@rubycramer @HillaryClinton @ClintonFdn A distraction from what, the pressing question of whether she's just terrific or totally awesome?

@lachlan Her answer is a "distraction" from her criminality.

@lachlan @rubycramer @HillaryClinton @ClintonFdn Distraction or annoyance?
— PontificAsian (@PontificAsian) April 20, 2015
@lachlan It must pull focus from her normal activities of accepting bribes and hiding from voters, reporters, and Joe Biden.
— Jim Eltringham (@JimEltringham) April 20, 2015
@lachlan It also invites allegations of criminal mischief. But what's a little criminality measured against the chance for a female POTUS?

@lachlan @instapundit @rubycramer "These allegations are made to keep me away from important shredding & obstruction of justice"

@lachlan What difference does it make?
— Martin David Sewell (@martindsewell) April 20, 2015
Well, it wasn’t a distraction for long, at least not today.
Hillary Clinton's gaggle with the press lasted one minute and 41 seconds.
