We’ve long known that the Twitter handle @barackobama is actually Organizing for Action pretending to be Barack Obama, but with the president currently away making history at the Summit of the Americas, this weekend the account is pretending to be run by Vice President Joe Biden, who’s taking over the microphone for the White House’s weekly address.
Biden hasn’t announced any plan to challenge Hillary Clinton for the White House, but this week’s topic — two free years of community college, an idea unveiled in January via Vine video and very briefly championed by actor Tom Hanks — is a sure favorite with millennials.
"Two years of community college should become as free and as universal as high school is today." —@VP Joe Biden http://t.co/opmfnUAWDs
— Barack Obama (@BarackObama) April 11, 2015
The vice president also made the announcement from his own @VP account.
"Making community colleges free is good for workers, it’s good for companies & it’s good for our economy." —VP Biden http://t.co/ppFH5w2RZL
— VP Biden (Archived) (@VP44) April 11, 2015
The tweets certainly rack up the favorites, but they elicit some questions as well.
@BarackObama @VP disagree, and that's coming from a CC student

@BarackObama @VP or maybe we should just make high school challenging again.

@BarackObama that's a theme with you. But you need to realize America was built on people who EARNED their way. Which you know nothing of.

@VP yes!! Make college more accessible for average Americans! Education shouldn't be about money.

Sold!
@VP I'm still convinced that ridin' with Biden for 4 years will produce the best result for our collective future. Please please run for 4.
