Oops: Race-obsessed Salon confuses Pakistani-American, British-Indian actors

Race is obviously a big deal at Salon, but not a big enough of a deal to check before publishing. In a review of HBO’s “Silicon Valley,” Salon noted that star Kumail Nanjiani, a Pakistani-American stand-up comedian and actor, “is in fact” a regular on CBS’s “The Big Bang Theory.” That would in fact be Kunal Nayyar, a British-Indian actor.

Oops indeed. Comedian Patton Oswalt tried to offer a path out of the mess.
