Brian Williams, the NBC News anchor with an apparent habit of “misremembering” many of his more heroic deeds, hasn’t yet returned from his suspension, but he reportedly made a quick cameo on the network tonight in a promotional spot on the theme of “trust.”
Larry Sabato, director of the University of Virginia Center for Politics, caught the errant spot Monday night.
I kid you not: NBC just aired a promo for suspended anchor Brian Williams on the theme of trust.

@LarrySabato Well, the comeback has to begin somewhere 😉

@LarrySabato @RameshPonnuru The only people we need to trust are those who write for the teleprompter not the one who reads from it, right?
— Wayne Soller (@wsoller) March 9, 2015
@LarrySabato @RameshPonnuru with that said, we need to see a promo stating, "He reads from the teleprompter better than the others."

It almost certainly was just another in-house promo that someone accidentally left in rotation to fill in unsold ad space. Or was it?
Was NBC's promo for Brian Williams tonight a mistake or a signal from top brass? Slogan at promo's end: "He's been there. He'll be there."
— Larry Sabato (@LarrySabato) March 9, 2015
@LarrySabato He still has 5 months on suspension. Perhaps NBC threw out trial ballon? See how public/press would react?

We bet he’ll have some amazing stories to tell about his suspension. He’s been there, he’ll be there.
