Not one but two credible bomb threats Saturday afternoon had two F-16 fighter jets scrambled to escort two airliners to the Atlanta airport. Affected were both a Southwest and a Delta flight.

Multiple sources are confirming fighter jets escorted commercial airplanes to #ATL because of credible bomb threats.

Passengers were evacuated from the flights, searched and interviewed while bomb squads and canine units searched the planes.
The Delta flight originated in Portland, Ore., and the Southwest flight was coming in from Milwaukee, Wis.
A Delta flight from Atlanta was forced to land at the Raleigh-Durham International Airport Jan. 17 after a bomb threat was made via Twitter, and another Delta flight was searched at JFK airport Jan. 19 after a threat was phoned in.
