If you're mad about the new 'Annie' starring Quvenzhane Wallis, you're probably a … movie critic

As if Sony didn’t have enough problems at the moment, the reviews are rolling in for “Annie,” and they’re not good. Review aggregation site Metacritic currently pegs the film at 31 out of 100, while Rotten Tomatoes currently rates it “rotten” at 19 percent, with 56 negative reviews counted so far.

New York Times reviewer A.O. Scott was particularly brutal, saying that strong cast “would have been better served by a middle school production overseen by a creatively frustrated, inappropriately ambitious drama teacher than by this hacky, borderline-incompetent production.” Academy Award nominee Quvenzhané Wallis has been praised for her performance as Annie, though. Wallis is “a born movie star, with charisma to burn and a rare ability to magnetize an audience’s attention,” writes Scott.

So why are you all so mad?
