Actually, a clergy-led protest in Chicago on Sunday did at one point feature a brief “die-in” in an intersection before participants continued their march. Like all such demonstrations reported by the mainstream media, the Chicago Tribune described the events as “peaceful protests.”

Word was there might be another peaceful protest in Chicago tonight, this one involving blocking traffic.
If you use 290 in the evening heads up: the protesters by UIC may be attempting to shut 290 down tonight.

A strong police presence coupled with rain seems to have kept things relatively quiet, though.

The Chicago Tribune’s Peter Nickeas managed to catch reports of gunshots on the police scanner before heading to cover the protests.
