'Mark Uterus': Colorado debate moderator calls Mark Udall by his feminist-friendly nickname

Moderator: "Mr. Udall, you've talked so much about women's issues you've been called Mark Uterus." How haven't I heard that before? #COSen

— Jessica Taylor (@JessicaTaylor) October 8, 2014

We hadn’t heard that one either, but it’s brilliant. The Denver Post’s Lyn Bartels, moderating Tuesday night’s debate between Republican Cory Gardner and Democrat Mark Udall, noted that Udall has been so singularly focused on women’s issues that some know him as “Mark Uterus.”

YIKES: Mark Udall is getting utterly embarrassed by the moderators. "Mark Uterus" ?? My lord. #COsen #COpolitics

Bartels calls the incumbent Mark Uterus. That happened. #COpolitics #COsen

Perfect… RT @EliStokols: Bartels calls the incumbent Mark Uterus. That happened. #COpolitics #COsen

@lynn_bartels chides "Mark Uterus" for his singular focus on women's issues, to the exclusion of everything else. #copolitics #cosen

— Sean Paige (@SeanPaige) October 8, 2014

Not everyone saw it as Udall being “chided” and took it as a compliment.

Somebody make me a Mark Uterus bumper sticker. 50 of them. I want them everywhere. #COsen

— Emmy Bengtson (@EmmyA2) October 8, 2014

I'm just gonna say it: I'll take "Mark Uterus" over the guy who thinks he should make decisions about my uterus *ANY* day. #COsen

— Emmy Bengtson (@EmmyA2) October 8, 2014

Mark Uterus! I love it! Protecting my rights! #copolitics

— Justine Sandoval (@Justa_Jus) October 8, 2014

Of course they’d drive around proudly with “Mark Uterus” bumper stickers.

Mark Udall outed as an extremist on abortion on 1st question. Pro-partial birth abortion, pro-sex selection abortion #COpolitics #COsen

— Brad Dayspring (@BDayspring) October 8, 2014

Mark Udall's position on abortion is BEYOND fringe. Less than 10% agree with his extremist position. #COsen COpolitics

— Brad Dayspring (@BDayspring) October 8, 2014

Mark Udall believes in women, unless they're viable in utero and unwanted. Then . . . not so much. #cosen
