Maryland Rep. Elijah Cummings blew a gasket when he heard there’d be a House select committee to investigate Benghazi. Rep. Louise Slaughter (D-N.Y.) called it “tacky.” Neither Slaughter nor Rep. Alan Grayson, fortunately, will be on the committee to prove “the scandal that never was” never was.
Cummings, though, has been selected by House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi to represent the Democrats on the committee — which she has called “a shameful attempt to politicize the Benghazi tragedy.” At least they’re approaching it with an open mind.
