David Letterman announces 2015 retirement; Twitter talks replacements

Have you heard the news? CBS says the “Late Show” host will retire in 2015.

Am I supposed to care that David Letterman is finally retiring? If so someone please arrange my facial features properly

— ????? ???? ??? (@HonkyTonkJew) April 3, 2014

That was pretty much our reaction.

I liked that thing Letterman did back in 1995.

So, David #Letterman's body will now join his sense of humour in retirement.

I can't believe David Letterman has announced his retirement–he is a great guy! @Letterman

Who should take over for Letterman?

Who will take the @Letterman spot? @jimmykimmel move to CBS? @CraigyFerg get the slot? #NextGenLateNight

— Rick Scherer (@rick_scherer) April 3, 2014

I hope @CraigyFerg takes David Letterman’s place when he retires

If Mario Lopez somehow squeezes into replacing Letterman, then I will highly consider the fact that the world is getting ready to end.

Letterman is retiring? Is there even a white guy ready to take his place that doesn't already have a talk show?

— Tronald Dump (@ChrisCubas) April 3, 2014

One of many reasons I'll miss Letterman: Sarah Palin would never in a million years dare go on his show.

— Frank Conniff (@FrankConniff) April 3, 2014

Could we put in a suggestion for someone not so hostile to conservatives like Sarah Palin?

David #Letterman was the greatest–way back, before he became a left-wing curmudgeon. From edgy to snarky.

Letterman's retiring? I wonder who'll be next in line to keep female comics off the show. #dontletthedoorhityouintheass

Women comedians, not so much. Women interns, though…

Remember the interns? That was weird. #Letterman

David Letterman is retiring next year. I wish I had the energy to pretend I cared about late night TV. http://t.co/eMM6qljoWE

Let’s call the whole thing off?

Here's an idea: when Letterman retires why not replace him w/an hour of pink noise? Late Night shows only exists to help people fall asleep.
