New York education commissioner calls 'Free Birds' 'compelling cartoon cinema'

Here’s one thing teachers and administrators learned today at Common Core training with New York State education commissioner John King: the movie “Free Birds” is “compelling cartoon cinema.” That quote just has to end up on the DVD packaging, doesn’t it?

Hmm … sounds kind of terrible. The film about the time traveling “Turkey Liberation Front” currently has a “rotten” rating on site “Rotten Tomatoes” with a 19% rating, and a 38/100 on Metacritic.

So, Common Core approved, then?
