Sen. Ted Cruz holds his own against 'prosecuting attorney' Jay Leno [video]

Don’t try to use an applause meter to gauge Jay Leno audience’s support for Ted Cruz. Leno’s questions, though, certainly weren’t the sort that President Boyfriend is used to hearing when he appears on TV (sometimes bearing a gift basket).

Jay Leno acted more like a prosecuting attorney than a comedian with Ted Cruz on his show. Lots of snarls, few… http://t.co/uo1PnXs4vB

@tedcruz @jayleno Geez, did Jay get his questions from the White House? Good job Ted!

— Ted Copeland (@copeland_ted) November 9, 2013

@copeland_ted @tedcruz @jayleno Leno is probably doing Cruz good by asking these questions and letting TC explain his positions on them.

Sen. Ted Cruz acquitted himself very well on Leno tonight. Articulate, pleasant and DID NOT DUCK some hard questions from Jay. Kudos Senator

@TobyMarie @tedcruz Brilliant, bold answers to antagonistic Leno. No dog questions for you like he asked of Obama.TX is proud!

Maybe if Cruz is setting up a run for 2016, Leno was doing a fine impression of a biased debate moderator.

Smart move by Cruz to go on #Leno. The Senator gets that politics are downstream from pop culture.

@DLoesch and straight out of prog playbook Leno has to go straight to gay marriage and social issues

— John Baxter (@johnrbaxter41) November 9, 2013

@johnrbaxter41 Not necessarily. Remember: Leno demo not like us. We know Cruz’s positions. Not everyone does.

— Dana Loesch (@DLoesch) November 9, 2013

Cruz is handling these questions very well. Leno also asking legit questions from a point of curiosity, not bias.

— Dana Loesch (@DLoesch) November 9, 2013

@DLoesch just made the point I was trying to make. These are questions asked in a way we must be prepared to answer. Leno being fair.
