House Republicans quietly emerged from a “good meeting” with the president tonight with little sign of progress toward reopening the government. Rep. Paul Ryan told reporters that the president “didn’t say no. He didn’t say yes.”
Former Obama speechwriter and “1600 Penn” co-creator Jon Lovett tonight let Twitter know his former boss isn’t playing around with this shutdown. (On a side note, it’s OK to say “Hussein” now?) Fans of the president are fired up.
