On this date in 1920, the 19th Amendment was ratified, giving liberal Democrat women the right to vote. One little-known fact lost over the years, though, is that conservative women also won the right to vote that same day, and despite reports to the contrary, these women still exist today — and they vote. Isn’t the assumption that the #WomenVote hashtag would be exclusively a celebration of the Democratic Party platform a denial of a woman’s right to choose?
