Conservatives on social media came out in force this summer to support blogger, activist and new media presence Caleb Howe, who was hospitalized with a life-threatening illness. The original fundraising goal of Caleb’s Girls Fund was surpassed 25 times in just two days, and Howe expressed his thanks in a Facebook post today.

Dear Friends,
It’s been a long time since I’ve posted anything, so bear with me. I wanted to take this rare moment of energy to say thank you. To all of you who prayed for me and my family, who sent gifts, money, and well wishes, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
The first night in the hospital I almost didn’t make it, as most of you now know. It has been a long, painful, exhausting several weeks since that night about a month ago, but my condition is finally improving and I may soon be able to say I’m recovering. In the meantime, the overwhelming support and concern from all corners of the internet, all areas of the country, and all sides of the political spectrum has truly humbled and awed me. Without you I probably wouldn’t be here right now. I wish I had more or better words to say, but again, I deeply thank you all. I sincerely miss you all. And I hope in the not too distant future I’ll be well enough to interact online more frequently. Until then, just know that we here at the Howe house are working hard on healing and are thinking of each of you every single day.
