Now that former U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice is helping ensure the safety of America’s embassies as our new national security adviser, it’s up to her successor, Samantha Power, to “push for reform, action, and solutions” in the U.N., and she’s certainly fired up and ready to go, with the backing of some high-profile celebrities.
Congrats and welcome to #Twitter @ambassadorpower – a strong voice for human rights, dignity & American values.

New United Nations Amb. @AmbassadorPower tweeted this: 'Much to do on UN reform, human rights and dignity, and more'

What sort of solutions will she be pushing for in her new position? Ones that get results, like in Libya — you know, where armed al-Qaida terrorists stormed the consulate and murdered our ambassador and three others.
Participated in my first #UNSC meeting today on #UN's important partnerships w/regional organizations like the African Union & Arab League.

Great example: Qadhafi fell because the Libyan people bravely stood up, the U.S. stood strong, and the Arab League stood united. #Results

@AmbassadorPower But what happened next? Bad planning for aftermath has led to a fractured, dysfunctional state where extremists hold sway

@AmbassadorPower And then we left our brave Americans like sitting ducks to die on 9-11-12. #Benghazi #shameful

Speaking of results, 19 U.S. embassies and consulates in 16 countries, including the embassy in Tripoli, Libya, are closed this week due to serious terror threats. Someone’s getting the results they want in Libya and elsewhere.

@AmbassadorPower Less than great example Syria: we converted an optician turned dictator into Dustin Hoffman in Sam Peckinpah's Straw Dogs!
