Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano told ABC News that the department is looking into the release of several hundred illegal immigrant detainees in the face of sequestration cuts that haven’t yet happened. Further, she was just as surprised as you were to hear about it.

Napolitano surprised about release… Please don't insult our intelligence!!— MIKE WAYNE (@target2016) March 1, 2013
In true Obama administration fashion, Napolitano passed the buck, telling ABC that “detainee populations and how that is managed back and forth is really handled by career officials in the field” — or, as ABC’s report calls them, “underlings.”

Something goes wrong? it's the "underlings" fault. We get Osama Bin Laden? It was all Obama's doing.

Having assured the nation she’d look into it, Napolitano turned her attention to more pressing matters: those nasty budget cuts and the long lines they’d create at airports. “Those lines are going to grow significantly at some of the larger airports,” she told ABC.
