Hey, you can’t blame a guy for trying, right? The “right-wing conspiracy” defense has worked out pretty well for others in the Democrat party. Right-wing blogs have come a long way since 1998, though, and they hold up pretty well against “real journalists” who seem to overlook shenanigans when distracted by a shiny “D” next to someone’s name. Get the FBI involved, though, and things get tricky.

As Twitchy reported much earlier today, the FBI paid a visit to the home of a friend and financial backer of Democratic Sen. Bob Menendez.
Kudos to Matthew Boyle of Breitbart.com, who just keeps advancing the story. Boyle says he has obtained emails showing an FBI agent offering to fly the source of the prostitution story to “a location where you can feel safe” to help with the inquiry. Someone needs to tell the FBI this is all being manufactured by a right-wing blog; that would save airfare, at least.

This is interesting. A right-wing blog going by the name “NBC News” is reporting tonight that Menendez forgot to reimburse his fundraiser friend, Dr. Salomon Melgen, for two round-trip flights on a private jet to the Dominican Republic in 2010, writing a personal check for $58,000 three years late.
