“American Idol” producer Nigel Lythgoe says he’s heard enough from Adam Lambert fans lobbying for a judge’s slot on the hit TV show. Both Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez announced last week they were quitting the show, leaving Randy Jackson as the sole remaining judge. Mariah Carey is rumored to be close to inking a $17 million deal to join the show.
Hey, @dizzyfeet and @FOXBroadcasting, we want @adamlambert as a judge on @AmericanIdol! He is the best for the show! #AdamOnIdol

Fans, not wanting to hurt Lambert’s chances, were conciliatory.
@dizzyfeet Really Nigel?? Adam's fan's & media feel that he would be a wonderful judge: it's called "support". Don't blame Adam..

Lythgoe asked fans of Lambert and the show to be “sensible.”
There are many names being discussed for IDOL judges. There is a team discussing this issue, not just me. I ask all fans to be sensible.

@dizzyfeet fans are never sensible lol. FAN = FANatic.

To be honest, 300 tweets doesn’t sound that bad. But the push might not be over just yet.
@dizzyfeet now you will hear Adam's name even more after tweeting that. Probably not the best move. Just sayin' #Adam

Update: Lythgoe tweets again to assure fans that their “sanity” (or lack thereof) will not affect the selection process.
RT @TrespassMyAss: The sane fans are ashamed at the representation of our fandom. [PLEASE DON'T WORRY. IT WOULD NEVER AFFECT DECISIONS.]
