Chick-Fil-A faces backlash over support of traditional family

As word spread on the Internet of Chick-Fil-A president Dan Cathy’s “guilty as charged” plea to supporting the “biblical definition of the family unit,” backlash against the restaurant chain spread on Twitter.

Cathy’s comments, made to the Baptist Press earlier this week, may have lost the chain customers it never even had as the familiar cries of “hate” poured in.

Well, I've never eaten at a Chick-fil-A and I think I shall continue that tradition.

Chick-fil-A can be the fuel of bigots, the slow and apathetic, and they will all die of heart disease when they're 45. Problem solved.

Chick-Fil-A CEO believes marriage is a sacred bond between two consenting bigots.

I guess I cant be too shocked that Chick fil A is run by a bunch of old man crackers selling chicken to fund bigotry. Tale as old as time.

Turns out the cows who can't spell "Eat More Chicken" correctly aren't the most ignorant people working for Chick-Fil-A.

Chick-Fil-A had its share of defenders as well.

If you've decided not to eat Chick-Fil-A because they stood up for what they believe, then you don't deserve their delicious chicken

Chick-fil-a is against gay marriage. I might eat there more now

I love Chick-Fil-A and the stand they are taking on upholding Christian beliefs and the sanctity of marriage.

Think we're eating at @chickfilA tonight 🙂 When did it become a crime to take a stand for God's truth? http://t.co/vqyAD1No

Is it possible not to care either way?

Chick-fil-a just revealed that they are officially against gay marriage. Why is that something they feel the need to announce?? #unnecessary

I am so glad Chick-fil-a let us all know its stance on gay marriage! It's important for me to know my fast food joints care about that.
