Miami Herald: Rebekah Jones is a 'whistleblower' and her son was arrested over memes

The investigative reporters at the Miami Herald must have made extensive revisions to their story without noting it because the tweet doesn’t match what the story reports at all. The story says that “whistleblower” Rebekah Jones’ 13-year-old son was arrested for threatening to shoot up a middle school — or maybe just knife some kids.

We get that the Herald and Jones both have an irrational hatred of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, but Jones is clearly mentally unbalanced. What’s the Herald’s reason for continuing to call Jones a “whistleblower” when there’s absolutely nothing true about her claim that DeSantis had ordered her to underreport COVID-19 cases and deaths in the state and that she refused?

And it all happened “weeks after Rebekah Jones sued the state of Florida over wrongful termination.” Just throwing that out there.

They did. The headline’s been changed, that’s for sure.

We’re actually surprised they haven’t. Even the Miami Herald must have some capacity for shame and embarrassment.
