There are so many good tweets to pull from the archives following Glenn Youngkin’s victory in Virginia, but this is one of the best:

You’ll notice in that tweet that Terry McAuliffe was playing up Youngkin’s endorsement by Donald Trump. NeverTrump conservatives like Bill Kristol were pulling for McAuliffe in fear of a “Trump-lite” governor of Virginia:

So Kristol endorsed McAuliffe because electing Youngkin would be “enabling Trumpist authoritarianism.” But now, Kristol is encouraging his “GOP-adjacent” friends to recruit and fund Youngkin-like alternatives for Senate and help them win.

The longtime Trump critic calls Youngkin too “Trumpy.”

October: I’m endorsing McAuliffe because Youngkin is too close to Trump. November: Recruit and fund Youngkin-like candidates.
