Here’s a clip from C-SPAN from Tuesday and we’re just now seeing it and think you should too. Colin Kahl, Under Secretary of Defense for Policy in the Biden administration, was asked by Sen. Joni Ernst if Americans were left behind in Afghanistan. That’s an easy enough question to answer, right? Even Pentagon officials at the time estimated there were probably around a hundred left behind.
Kahl, though, comes right out and says, “We did not leave Americans behind,” leaving it to Lt. Gen. James J. Mingus to break it to Ernst that the last U.S. plane left the Kabul airport the morning of the 31st of August.
.@SenJoniErnst asks if Americans behind were left behind.@ColinKahl: We did not leave Americans behind. They continue to get out.
Gen. Mingus: Yes ma'am, the last airplane left the evening of the 30th, the morning of 31st.
Ernst: Thank you for your straight-forward answer. pic.twitter.com/7YaWHGXcMu
