Shot and chaser: Politico didn't always think that Ukrainian election meddling was fictional

Just as former NSC aide and Russia expert Fiona Hill was beginning to testify before the House Intelligence Committee, Politico’s Jake Sherman wondered how Republicans would react hearing Hill explain that it was just a “fictional narrative” that Ukraine interfered with the 2016 election.

Politico’s congressional correspondent, Kyle Cheney, also got a hold of Hill’s opening statement:
