As Twitchy reported, Rep. Ilhan Omar, surprising no one, jumped onto social media to defend her colleague Rep. Rashida Tlaib, who tried her hand at revisionist history by saying on a podcast that she found it calming to think that her Palestinian ancestors had provided “safe haven” for the Jews during World War II, when in reality Palestinian leaders allied themselves with Adolf Hitler, agreeing they had a common enemy.
Omar reacted to President Trump’s tweet by perpetuating the debunked and yet often-repeated Charlottesville hoax that had Trump praising neo-Nazis as “fine people.” And of course she couldn’t let Rep. Liz Cheney get away with tweeting a demand that Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer “finally take action against vile anti-Semitism in their ranks.” (Pelosi and Hoyer of course caved and accused the GOP of smearing Tlaib.)
