We’ve heard some serious nonsense from CNN today, mostly thanks to Chris Cillizza, but check out this hot take from Jim Sciutto on Brett Kavanaugh accuser Dr. Christine Blasey Ford’s opportunity to testify under oath on Monday:
The offer to #ChristinaBlaseyFord is blunt: testify in public six days from now while under death threats or your allegation will be ignored in the confirmation of a SCOTUS nominee. That is quite a choice.

My God CNN stands by this?!? https://t.co/YawY1pUpEL

Just when you thought CNN couldn’t possibly sink any lower. You people are unbelievable!

Checks bio.
CNN
EL OH EL

Very dishonest way to frame this. Shame!
— Jesse (@JDPeterson75) September 19, 2018
Wow, this is quite an apple
— Cameron Gray (@Cameron_Gray) September 19, 2018
Yeah. How dare they offer her a fair hearing. Monsters. ?
— moodyredhead (@moodyredhead) September 19, 2018
This is false but we expect that from CNN. #EnemyOfThePeople
— The Real Bepo (D) (@TheRealBepo) September 19, 2018
That is quite a distortion of the situation. Dr. Ford can tell her story in public or private a week after her lawyer said she was anxious to do so. She needs to step up or step away.

Testify six days from now under OATH or your allegation will be ignored. Fixed it for you.
— TechOutside (@TechOutside) September 19, 2018
Is this your objective journalistic opinion?
— Mike Stern (@mls1776) September 19, 2018
Oh give me a break is that supposed to be unbiased??? Kavanaugh and his family have been under threat since before the hearings started! I swear CNN journalist are crack heads! Nothing else explains their behavior!
— Melanie (@mefbama) September 19, 2018
Why was her lawyer negotiating all day to take the oath off the table?
— Brian Trascher (@BTrascher) September 19, 2018
It’s a whole lot less blunt if you tell the truth. She was offered a private hearing. And whether she testifies in 6 days or 6 weeks, do you think it will be any less heated? Or should we just not expect testimony at all?
— Stewart Bratcher (@Bratcherfirm) September 19, 2018
So, the obvious solution would be to keep her in the middle of a public firestorm *longer* debating an event that no one but her has claimed to know anything about, nor can anyone do anything to corroborate given the lack of a time or a place to start looking.
— Tom Quinn (@doublespeak152) September 19, 2018
Boohoo. Kavanaugh and his KIDS have been under death threats since day ONE and your side has had no issue with any of that. Maybe if she wouldn't lie and try to start all this for simple stall tactics and COOPERATE w/ them for the info it wouldn't be where its at now
— Mandy (@volbeatlifewife) September 19, 2018
You should teach a spin class…you're excellent at it. BTW, your idea of unbiased journalist will fit right in at an advertising agency or any client representation position that requires a singular position. How low can @CNN ratings get until they see you & yours as a problem?
— Lonny MacDougall (@LonnyMac) September 19, 2018
Do you plan to ask Sen. Feinstein why she didn’t bring this up in July instead of forcing all this onto this lady in such a callous and careless way?
— Celia Nelson (@cknelsonmd) September 19, 2018
1) This is false. She has been given the option of testifying at a closed hearing instead.
2) Is she not safe while testifying at Congress? Whatare you trying to imply here? Would testifying in 2 weeks somehow be safer?
3) This is partisan hackery.
— (((AG))) (@AG_Conservative) September 19, 2018
LOL…. serious journalism and you wonder why Trump won…
— Michelle (@MaryHill387) September 19, 2018
You’re a journalist!?!
— EducatédHillbilly™ (@RobProvince) September 19, 2018
Are you handling her PR now? I thought you worked for CNN
— Ryan (@alwaysonoffense) September 19, 2018
Unbelievable.
