Before the government shutdown, Sen. Chuck Schumer reportedly had offered “well north of the $1.6 billion in wall funding Trump had asked for this year,” according to two Democrats, but on Sunday, Schumer took the wall funding off the table.
Democrats have done their best to spin the shutdown as a win for their party, and they seem pretty jazzed that Schumer is saying no to a border wall. This must be that “potential for momentum” that Debbie Wasserman Schultz was talking about.

Not so fast: Resistance leader Scott Dworkin is still insisting the Democrats won the shutdown, big time.
Schumer just took the border wall funding off the table for DACA negotiations. As he should. And like I said, Republicans lost big time. We got CHIP funded, will get community health centers funded & have a deal for DACA by Feb 8 or the Gov’t will shut down until DACA passes.
