Following a meeting tonight, it sounded very much like Rep. Paul Ryan would be willing to serve as Speaker of the House after John Boehner retires, presumably at the end of this month. Early reports said his OK came with conditions, and a message from his spokesperson listed quite a few, including maintaining a healthy work-life balance. “Family comes first,” Ryan said.

That condition led to quite a bit of criticism, and some support as well. Radio host and Fox News contributor Laura Ingraham reportedly deleted at least one tweet critical of Ryan.
