Actor George Clooney, and his wife, Amal, announced that they would support the “March for Our Lives Movement” by attending the march on Washington and by donating $500,000.

Oprah quickly followed suit by also pledging $500,000.
George and Amal, I couldn’t agree with you more. I am joining forces with you and will match your $500,000 donation to ‘March For Our Lives.’ These inspiring young people remind me of the Freedom Riders of the 60s who also said we’ve had ENOUGH and our voices will be heard.

Steve Speilberg and his wife, Katie, also decided to throw in $500,000 towards the cause.
Steven & Kate Spielberg also pledge $500k to #MarchForOurLives: "The young students in Florida and now across the country are already demonstrating their leadership with a confidence and maturity that belies their ages" https://t.co/GmeVH35N5z

Of course, people were quick to praise the celebrities.
THIS JUST KEEPS GETTING BIGGER! The "March for Our Lives" event in D.C. on 3/24 has MAJOR support. This march for gun control, in the wake of the Florida school shooting, has gotten $500,000 donations from The Clooneys, Spielbergs, Katzenbergs & Oprah. Geo & Amal will attend!

Apparently $500,000 must be chump change for these celebrities. It’s a LOT of $$$ to us average folk.
It's another #DontKillUs tour. Sad, but thanks to George/Amal & Oprah, least they have some ?.
Hope this works.
They also need MENTORS.
Maybe this will help.

Oprah, please run for president and save us all from Trump. You are the change we need. Our children of all races are dying. You have the heart, the finances and power to change this. No one else would be cool able to beat him.

Investing in children who are the future. Unlike the GOP that protects the rights of gun-toters who are killing them off.
