Last night, Tom Nichols and Dan McLaughlin had a few rounds on Twitter regarding the fact that Tom likes to think he is super important and smart and wants to tell others how they should behave. Dan simply pointed out the idiocy and then Tom decided GOP voters NEED him to help choose the GOP candidate for president in 2024 and that did not go so well.
Below are a few of the barbs between Tom and Dan.

We could be sad too, but mostly we are just glad that some people have shown their true colors. There are plenty of accounts on Twitter that openly admit they are not Trump’s biggest fans without having become completely irrational and irrelevant Democrats. After that back and forth with Dan Tom did another tweet with the takeaway being that he is way more important in his own head than to almost anyone else.
It’s not up to me to give GOPers a better candidate than Trump. It is up to them to make Trump unelectable by saying they would never, ever, let him near the Oval, even if that means joining with Dems if all else fails at the last minute to prevent it.

This happened in the primaries for the midterms. Dems throwing money to push the people they thought they could beat, so why would it not happen again in 2024?

Tom is Tom. He is never going to change. He will always be the smartest most principled guy in the room according to himself, but the point must be made, supporting Democrats if you are a conservative is not principled, the least the guy could do is throw away a vote to a Libertarian and try to get a 3rd party on a debate stage. We also want to point out LITERALLY NOBODY cares who Tom supports or does not support for the 2024 presidential nomination, GOP or Democrat.
If there is one bright spot to Mr. Nichols’ self-absorption, it does give us something to write and laugh about! Keep being you, Tom Nichols. We like the material.
