'Cutting off your nose to spite your face.'
That's a phrase that's been on my mind lately, as a parade of so-called 'conservatives' continue to make the 'case' for voting for Kamala Harris.
The latest is Judge Michael Luttig.
Exclusive/CNN--Judge Michael Luttig, widely respected conservative jurist, endorses Kamala Harris--his FIRST Democratic vote. Issues a remarkable statement to explain why. https://t.co/o7Z5PWa7dR

Here's his statement, via CNN:
“In the presidential election of 2024 there is only one political party and one candidate for the presidency that can claim the mantle of defender and protector of America’s Democracy, the Constitution, and the Rule of Law,” Luttig wrote in a statement obtained exclusively by CNN. “As a result, I will unhesitatingly vote for the Democratic Party’s candidate for the Presidency of the United States, Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris.”
Excuse me if I don't buy that at all.
Democracy? I'd like the good judge to tell me how many votes Kamala Harris received this year to make her the nominee. Because, by my reckoning, it's zero.
As for the Constitution, well: Kamala Harris is on record supporting an Australian-style gun confiscation plan, banning red meat, outlawing private health insurance, stealing corporate patents, and overriding the Tenth Amendment when states pass abortion laws she doesn't like. That's protecting the Constitution?
Rule of law? Don't even get me started. Kamala Harris raised bail money for violent criminal offenders, called for defunding the police, abolishing ICE, and decriminalizing illegal immigration. They oversaw some of the worst riots in 2020, where few people faced serious consequences. Next to none of their anti-semitic, Jew-hating comrades who spent the spring occupying college campuses saw charges, either. Under their 'rule of law', there's a set of rules for everyone else and a set of rules for themselves.
And this guy was a judge? And he said this stuff with a straight face?
There is no realm in which conservative ideals are compatible with a Kamala Harris presidency. None. Anyone who has spent the last four years paying attention to the Biden administration knows this.
One can make a reasonable case against voting for Trump. I opposed his candidacy vehemently in 2016. I get why some people don't want to vote for him, and that's their choice.
But you know what I didn't do?
I didn't delude myself into thinking the answer to my concerns and objections to Trump was to vote for Hillary Clinton.
The only respectable 'conservative case' in this election is to not vote for Trump, or to vote third party. I pulled the lever for Gary Johnson in 2016. There is nothing wrong with either of those options, and I want to emphasize that.
A vote for the Democratic Party candidate -- to 'preserve conservatism' -- is, at best, misguided thinking and a kamikaze mission at worst.
There is no 'conservative case' for casting a vote for the openly communistic, radically pro-abortion, rabidly anti-Constitution Leftist that is Kamala Harris. She is the antithesis of what you claimed to stand for, and will do untold damage to conservatism. Far, far worse damage than Trump would ever do.
Maybe you think that's okay, that whatever reason you oppose Trump justifies a vote for Kamala. Maybe the destruction of conservatism doesn't bother you.
But that's what you're voting for. You're not being a noble crusader for the cause.
You can lie to yourself and pretend otherwise, but the rest of us know the truth.
And if the choice is Trump or Kamunism, that's an easy one to make.
