Palm Beach County attorneys are sending cease-and-desist letters to a Palestinian student group at Florida Atlantic University after the group posted mock eviction notices on several hundred dormitory doors last week, which included an official county seal.

Members of the Students for Justice in Palestine group declined to comment, referring questions to the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

“Our concern is their First Amendment rights are being violated because, first of all, the students got permission, and secondly, there was no call for violence, so our legal team is looking into this to find out what is in it that would prohibit the right to free expression,” spokesman Nezar Hamze said.
