U.S. Military prepares to stop global warming

This summer, the Navy will deploy SEALs with $2 million of new solar technology that will enable them to power up equipment and purify water while on the move, and even refrigerate medical supplies and food, Scientific American reported.

Climate policy can be a minefield, and detractors in Congress have criticized the military’s efforts to go green as political favors to environmental firms. But military leaders say reducing energy consumption is about protecting servicemembers and national security interests, not political correctness.
