Former top Murdoch executive Rebekah Brooks has been re-arrested in a morning raid in Britain that netted six people on suspicion of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice as part of the probe into phone hacking, The Guardian reports.
The newspaper says authorities publicly would confirm only that a 43-year-old woman and her 49-year-old husband have been arrested, but The Guardian says its sources report that Brooks, and her husband, Charlie Brooks, were among the six picked up.
It was the second time Brooks has been arrested. She was picked up last year on charges involving phone hacking and payments to police for news tips, the newspaper says.
The BBC also reports Brooks’ arrest as does Sky News, which says the latest move by Scotland Yard involves an alleged conspiracy to cover up the original allegations of wrongdoing.
If she wasn’t in deep trouble before, it appears that she is now.
