Alas, it’s not a joke. He really said it.
As Twitchy told you, Mitt Romney lit into Donald Trump today, calling him — among other things — a phony, a fraud, a sexist, and a racist. Trump responded on Twitter, but many were waiting to hear him address it on camera.
This afternoon, he did just that. Well, sort of. He wound up doing one of his trademark stream-of-consciousness things, attacking Romney not with substance, but with insults.
Here’s one such gem:
Trump on 2012: "I could have said, Mitt, drop to your knees. He would have dropped to his knees."

Trump on endorsing Romney in 2012: “I could have said ‘Mitt, drop to your knees.’ He would have dropped to his knees.”

Rubio is castigated for joking about Trump’s hand size and atrocious spelling, but Trump goes for the innuendo and is just being refreshingly un-P.C.?
Yeah, OK.
"I could have said Mitt, drop to your knees, and he would have dropped to his knees." Keep it classy, @realDonaldTrump

Trump just said Romney was begging for his endorsement:
"I could've said, 'Mitt, drop to your knees,' and he would've dropped."
Nonsense.
