Where’s the beef? As Donald Trump told Wolf Blitzer today, it’s with Fox News’ Megyn Kelly:

Here’s the video (via the Washington Examiner):

Trump evidently finds Kelly so objectionable, he says he might sit out the next debate, where she’ll be a moderator:

More from The Hill:

Trump said he “probably” would participate, but that “nothing is 100 percent” yet.

“I’m not 100 percent, I’ll see,” Trump said. “If I think I’m going to be treated unfairly I’ll do something else. But I don’t think she can treat me fairly, actually. I think she’s very biased and I don’t think she can treat me fairly.”

“But that doesn’t mean I don’t do the debate,” he continued. “I like doing the debates. I’ve won every single debate according to every single poll … so I want to do the debates, they’re good for me. But I don’t think she can treat me fairly and I’m not a big fan of hers. Maybe I know too much about her.”

Some tweeters came down on Trump’s side:

But many others took The Donald to task:

A Fox spokesperson has reportedly weighed in:

Here’s their statement:

“Sooner or later Donald Trump, even if he’s president, is going to have to learn that he doesn’t get to pick the journalists — we’re very surprised he’s willing to show that much fear about being questioned by Megyn Kelly.”

With only a few more days until the debate, either Trump or FNC/Kelly will have to yield. And Kelly doesn’t seem all that concerned about Trump’s feelings, so … let’s just say Trump may have to grin and bear it.

I don’t give a rat’s ass who ‘won’ a spat. I expect that the press will be hostile toward every candidate. That is their job. When a candidate expects softball questions he/she deserves to be blindsided with a hard one (or several). If the press is doing their job well, the candidates should be prepared for it. Trump obviously was not and was pissed off that Megyn Kelly had the effrontery to ask a tough question on a network that he assumed would kowtow to him. Nobody should coast into the presidency; it should be earned by being prepared. Yes, Trump is treating this like a game: one more reason he shouldn’t be able to make the rules.

The reality, though, is that he’s obsessed with what people say and think about him. Hence his throwing temper-tantrums whenever somebody doesn’t like him.
