In case you missed it, this past weekend, the Cruz campaign ran an ad on Iowa NBC affiliates during “Saturday Night Live.” The parody Christmas ad featured Cruz’s two daughters. And that was all Washington Post editorial cartoonist Ann Telnaes needed to feel like the little girls are “are fair game”:

Here’s what she wrote (we figured we’d get a screenshot in case she smartens up and deletes it):
Sen. Cruz wasn’t buying what Telnaes was selling:
Classy. @washingtonpost makes fun of my girls. Stick w/ attacking me–Caroline & Catherine are out of your league. https://t.co/N61ys6z8w1
— Ted Cruz (@tedcruz) December 22, 2015
Good for him. He’s absolutely right.
Cruz kids are NOT props. God forbid they may want to spend time together as a family while he campaigns.
— Amanda Carpenter (@amandacarpenter) December 22, 2015
Really cold-hearted. Washington Post calls Cruz girls "fair game." They are practically babies. GROSS, WaPo.

Come on. https://t.co/m2MsRQkq1y

I'm with @tedcruz on this. Pathetic. https://t.co/6IwJhUBs58

@AnnTelnaes So #Obama showing off his family in 2008 wasn't? Talk about double standatds…
— Doug Quixote (@DeTroyes1) December 22, 2015
Are you gonna make them dancing monkeys too? Oo @AnnTelnaes pic.twitter.com/ls2fw0vTx9
— Chad Felix Greene (@chadfelixg) December 22, 2015
Are you seriously making his 2 beautiful little girls into monkeys? https://t.co/XNMQStx9vs
— Sarah Stevenson (@sarahrstevenson) December 22, 2015
@AnnTelnaes I hope you don't have any kids Ann. This is beneath basic human decency.
— Dan Simpson (@DSimpson88) December 22, 2015
@AnnTelnaes How rude of you Ann. They are not props. They are family. He is letting the world see his family. Back off!
— sabmesser (@sabmesser) December 22, 2015
Pretty gross. And I'm not referring to Cruz, I'm talking about this WaPo article. C'mon now. https://t.co/VfN7pPyhpl
— Jeff B/DDHQ (@EsotericCD) December 22, 2015
@AnnTelnaes You are disgusting & you should be ashamed of yourself!
— musicfriend (@musicfriend1) December 22, 2015
@AnnTelnaes Douchey move again, Ann.
— John Burtner كافر (@JohnBurtner) December 22, 2015
You tweet this as if you're proud of it. Gross. https://t.co/TzBwoSY62V
— LMR (@LilMissRightie) December 22, 2015
Trust us, Ann. You’ve got nothing to be proud of.

Update:
This earlier tweet from Telnaes doesn’t do her any favors. In fact, it only confirms that she’s a despicable creature:
Ted Cruz has put his children in a political ad- don't start screaming when editorial cartoonists draw them as well. https://t.co/7hafBacOiK
— Ann Telnaes (@AnnTelnaes) December 22, 2015
Truly twisted.
@AnnTelnaes What the hell is the matter with you?
