MSNBC has hired White House Associate Communications Director Rachel Racusen as its vice president of communication, the network announced on Friday.

Racusen served as national deputy communications director for President Barack Obamas 2012 reelection campaign. She also has worked for FEMA, House education and Workforce Committee, SKDKnickerbocker and Dittus Communications.
