It pays to whine about rich people — literally!
Paul Krugman is so outraged about income inequality that he's getting paid $25,000 a month to fight it. http://t.co/BOroqbhCuC #tcot

That’s right. Even Gawker editors can’t politely avert their eyes on this one. As the gossip site reports, the City University of New York (CUNY) has tapped broken window fan Paul Krugman for a distinguished professorship at its Luxembourg Income Study Center, which analyzes income and wealth data in various countries. The icing on the cake? Krugman will receive a cool $225,000 for his, er, services:
Krugman to be paid $225k over 9 months by an *Income Inequality Institute* to do…almost nothing. http://t.co/F1SHOc0T6J

From the offer letter:
Pawning your responsibilities off on students? Nice work if you can get it.

At this point, anyone who cites Paul Krugman about income inequality should be mocked mercilessly. And laughed at. Mercilessly.

Paul Krugman, in January: "The myth of the deserving rich." http://t.co/VExpQoAn7r #Fun
— Guy Benson (@guypbenson) April 16, 2014
Krugman really embracing that free market economy, I guess?
— Dikembe Mutimbo (@Timinole) April 16, 2014
I'd raise awareness about income inequality for less than $25K/month. #ironytagexplodes
— Brian Faughnan (@BrianFaughnan) April 16, 2014
I'd say I have about 1% of Krugman's academic credentials. So I'll charge $250/month if you want to hire me to write about income inequality
— Lachlan Markay (@lachlan) April 16, 2014
"Rich people Suck"
-That will be $10K. Thanks.— Mickey White (@BiasedGirl) April 16, 2014
Also if you're paying me $25K a month I might consider doing seminars on "Income Equality" or "Unicorns" or "Dragons"…whatever.
— Mickey White (@BiasedGirl) April 16, 2014
Vox pitch: Everything you need to know about why Paul Krugman actually deserves more than $25K / month
— David Rutz (@DavidRutz) April 16, 2014
Get on that, Ezra.
Exit question:
Is it too late for the Koch Brothers to buy the naming rights for Krugman's endowed chair? Because *that* might make this even funnier
— Gabriel Rossman (@GabrielRossman) April 16, 2014
Yes!
