Is our children learning? Not at this school in Queens:

There are 234 students at PS 106 in Far Rockaway, Queens. And do you know how they spend their school days? Watching movies.

And according to the Post, teachers have been waiting on new curricula (Common Core curricula, in fact) since Hurricane Sandy. Principal Marcella Sills, whose annual salary is over $128,000, rarely shows up for work.

Oh, and there’s this:

PS 106 is allocated $2.9 million to serve a low-income population with 98 percent of its students eligible for free lunches. As a Title 1 school, it gets extra federal funds, but community members say they’ve never seen a budget tracking the income and spending.

But please, lefties. Tell us more about how school choice will hurt the children.
