As Twitchy reported, Jay Carney tried to pull a fast one by insisting that the White House doesn’t have access to accurate demographic data on Obamacare. He went on to assert that the Obama administration had nothing to do with that magical 7-million-enrollment figure that it so often touted.
It was all complete B.S., of course, and Fox News correspondent Jim Angle saw right through it:
But the 2.1 million signups are far short of the 3.3 million goal for the end of December– as laid out in Admin documents.

The same projections aimed at 7 million by the end of March, which HHS Sec Sebelius fully embraced, saying that's what success looks like.

now that the admin has fallen short, officials are playing down the 7 m figure, some denying that was ever an Admin number. Wrong.

Yep. The White House took that number and proudly ran with it.
It started with the CBO but has since been fully embraced by top officials, even though Sperling and Carney say there is no "magic number."

There is, however, a magic mix — of young and healthy to offset the risk of older and sicker people. And there is little evidence of it.

Evidence is definitely not this administration’s strong suit.
Disgraceful.
