Linda Douglass was communications director for the White House Office of Health Reform until 2010. In 2009, she offered us “the truth about health care insurance reform”:
Gotta love this official video of one of Obama's paid liars –> http://t.co/goE80eod5u

Transcript:
You know, the people who always try to scare people whenever you try to bring them health insurance reform are at it again, and they’re taking sentences and phrases out of context and cobbling them together to leave a very false impression. The truth is that the president has been talking to the American people a lot about health insurance reform and what is at stake for them, so what happens is that because he’s talking to the American people so much, there are people out there with a computer and a lot of free time and they take a phrase here and there, they simply cherry pick and put it together and make it sound like he’s saying something that he didn’t really say.
Douglass proceeded to play “a clip they probably won’t show you,” one that’s meant to illustrate that Obama has always been honest about health care reform. Here’s a quote from that clip:
Obama: “Here is a guarantee that I’ve made: If you have insurance that you like, then you will be able to keep that insurance … nobody is trying to change what works in the system.”
Recommended
Douglass played one more clip, just to really drive the point home. Here’s the money quote from that one:
Obama: “If you like your plan, and you like your doctor, you won’t have to do a thing. You keep your plan, you keep your doctor. If your employer is providing you good health insurance, terrific. We’re not gonna mess with it.”
That was it? That was all she had?

Seriously. The White House can’t handle the truth.
Was it worth it, @lindouglass? When you deceived millions of Americans, was it worth it?

Editor’s note: This post originally named Linda Douglass as the communications director for the White House Office of Health Reform. She left the post in 2010. Additionally, the video above was posted in August 2009, not recently as the post suggested. The post and title have been edited to correct that information. We regret and apologize for the errors.
