As Twitchy reported earlier, “real journalist” David Chalian got busted and canned for jackassishly asserting that the Romneys are fiddling “while black people drown.” Righteously indignant Twitterers quickly called Chalian out for his callous race-baiting, but several members of the lapdog media decided that what he really needed was a good cuddle. The Washington Post’s Rachel Weiner, whose lapdoggitude we’ve documented before, clearly fell into the latter category, and she “reported” on the story by writing off Chalian’s remarks as a “joke.”
A joke? Really? Because nobody’s laughing.
We're really allowing it's a "joke?" RT @washingtonpost: Yahoo News editor fired over anti-Romney joke: http://t.co/FugDWNCy #GOP2012

So David Chalian's comments get defended as "a joke" but Romney's birth cert joke is a racist dog whistle?

Neither do we. The only joke here is The Washington Post and its pathetic defense of Chalian’s racism.
