Just when you thought New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio couldn’t be any more out-of-touch and awful … along he comes to exceed expectations:
Our city is directly confronting a crisis that is driving working New Yorkers into poverty and our streets into gridlock. The unchecked growth of app-based for-hire vehicle companies has demanded action – and now we have it.
— Mayor Bill de Blasio (@NYCMayor) August 8, 2018
More than 100,000 workers and their families will see an immediate benefit from this legislation. And this action will stop the influx of cars contributing to the congestion grinding our streets to a halt.

I want to thank @NYCSpeakerCoJo and Council Member @StephenLevin33 for their leadership on this issue, and the entire @NYCCouncil for standing up for working people. I look forward to signing these bills into law.

Of course you look forward to it, you twit.
Bill de Blasio does.

Thank god, it’s easier for cab drivers to openly discriminate again. Power to the people. https://t.co/Y4AlDNOjJI

I'm confused.
Aren't Uber / Lyft drivers also "working people?" https://t.co/3lxn02JOkh
— RBe (@RBPundit) August 8, 2018
Guess they don’t count.
And you've "solved" it by taking away the income of working class people who are driving cars they own that were already on the streets anyway. You sold out to the cab companies, unions and lobbyists… again. https://t.co/skxXHRMKyA
