It’s always disturbing to see people advocate for abortion, as if it’s some kind of gift or badge of honor to be able to kill an unborn child.
But there’s something particularly sickening about advocating for abortion under the banner of religion.
You don’t need to be Catholic to see what’s wrong with this take from Catholics for Choice:
Abortion is not a sin.
It's okay to get an abortion because you want an abortion.

We’d be lying if we said there are never any cases in which abortion may be the only option available. Sometimes, as is the case with ectopic pregnancies.
But we’d also be lying if we said that most abortions are not medically necessary and are used instead as a last-resort method of birth control. And, contra Catholics for Choice, that’s not OK.

As Catholics, we cannot advocate for violence, especially when there are easily accessible resources and aid that can better help the issue. Abortion doesn’t have to be the option.

I know this org is trying to make Catholicism more relevant to young people, but contradicting fundamental doctrine is not the way to go about it.

Be pro-choice if that’s your thing. But don’t invoke Catholicism to do it.
Repent and confess your heresies.
