AOC’s degree may have been in economics (allegedly), but she’s also an armchair epidemiologist.
And we’ve got some good news, everyone. Dr. AOC has got some more thoughts on the Trump administration and GOP’s role in the COVID19 crisis.
Spoiler alert: All of this could’ve been prevented if it weren’t for those meddling Republicans.
The Trump admin is now projecting 3,000 daily deaths by June, and they are STILL pushing to “reopen.”
We are now careening towards one 9/11-scale death event *per day.* This was all preventable w/ tests, tracing,& policy.
Instead the GOP showered their friends w/ bailout money.

And AOC wagged her finger at people who didn’t want to “patron” Chinese restaurants. In March. After Americans had started contracting and dying from COVID19.
There’s actually a decent amount of BS to unpack here.
First of all:
Per @WhiteHouse:
“This is not a White House document, nor has it been presented to the Coronavirus Task Force or gone through interagency vetting.
This data is not reflective of any of the modeling … or data that the task force has analyzed."https://t.co/gvszVZAjeH

The author of the report yesterday said the it wasn't ready to be released, nor was it intended to be any kind of forecast.https://t.co/2nQG17AuHU

So there’s that. There’s also the insane idea that “this was all preventable.” How does she figure?
Preventable? Where were you in January?

Not warning fellow Democrats Bill de Blasio and Andrew Cuomo that their policies would ultimately make New York a hotbed of COVID19 infection and death.
"This was all preventable w/ tests, tracing,& policy."

Eh, little of column A, little of column B.
Are you insane ?

I think we all know the answer to that
